The building experience was surprisingly therapeutic.
With 784 pieces, I expected some level of mental breakdown, but it’s actually very manageable. I turned on Netflix, made myself a warm cup of coffee, and started stacking each layer. At one point I caught myself thinking, “Wait… am I building LEGO or creating actual art?”
The layering technique is where LEGO really shows off.
Each level adds a bit more volume, and before you know it, the tree starts looking more and more alive—like it actually grew overnight. The red, silver, and gold ornaments are adorable, and attaching them feels strangely satisfying. The tiny candle bricks? Easily my favorite detail. They give off a classic, old-fashioned Christmas vibe that just hits right.
You can build two versions of this tree—a tall version and a shorter, candle-heavy one.
I tried both, and personally, I prefer the tall version. It looks more elegant… almost like something you’d see in a fancy department store holiday display. But depending on your space and decor, either version works perfectly fine.
Once I placed the finished tree on my desk, everyone who walked by had the same reaction:
“Wait—THAT is LEGO?”
And each time, I pretended to be modest while secretly thinking,
“Yes, and I built it 😎.”
(Though, let’s be real, LEGO deserves most of the credit.)
If I had to point out one downside, it’s the lack of LED lights.
Seriously LEGO… why no LEDs? This tree was so close to perfection.
I ended up buying a small fairy-light string on Amazon and wrapped it around the tree—and honestly, it turned into a whole new level of holiday magic. (Highly recommend. Lighting is everything.)
What I Loved
-
The build itself is incredibly relaxing
-
Makes any desk, shelf, or entryway instantly festive
-
Great gift idea
-
Surprisingly sturdy (even when the desk shakes a bit)
-
Looks like an actual Christmas decoration, not a toy
What Could Be Better
-
No built-in LED lights (a real missed opportunity)
-
Some small ornaments can fall off when moving it
-
If you have pets, they may see this as a new “interactive toy” 😂
Final Verdict
If you want holiday vibes without the hassle—or the giant tree—this set is pretty much perfect. It fits small spaces, is fun to build, and adds a warm, cozy atmosphere the moment you put it on display.
My rating?
10/10 holiday mood.
If I had to build it again, I totally would
